From her office in Hoofddorp, Bluewater cooperates with more than 500 colleagues to provide the solutions for the future. Within a multidisciplinary project environment in this organisation the Electrical and Instrumentation (E&I) department is responsible for the overall coordination between the engineering units. Highly qualified instrument designers and engineers work together in multidisciplinary teams to develop the Instrument and Controls system. Because of further expansion we are looking for a Lead Engineer Instruments for this division in Hoofddorp. Lead Engineer Instruments, Bluewater Energy Services, Hoofddorp,the top of technical project management Function descriptionAs Lead Engineer in Single Point Mooring and Floating Production projects you manage project teams consisting of 3 to 10 engineers and designers assigned to your project. You ensure that the design meets all the requirements by making the estimates and by a good communication and synchronisation within your team and the other engineering disciplines and subcontractors. Your team knows the interface between instrumentation and other disciplines of engineering, you are involved with all phases of a project including concept, basic, detail and construction. Also your team provides instrumentation support and implement corrective actions for the already operational FPSO’s. Together you define the control concept, prepare the specifications and technical bid evaluations of process control and automation systems, prepare the specifications and calculations for instruments and control valves. It is your responsibility to provide the engineering output for the instrumentation discipline for all projects, according to the project requirements and the corporate management system. Therefore you perform the set engineering activities and ensure that these activities and deliverables meet the specified level of quality. You update and share knowledge and procedures with your team on all relevant discipline engineering aspects. A few times a year you visit the floating units to see the technical achievements of your team. To be able to achieve all those goals, you have a pragmatic and operation minded approach. You have demonstrated project leadership abilities and extended (instrumentation) engineering experience, for example in the offshore, oil and gas, upstream or downstream piping industry or at an engineering agency or refinery. You are creative, flexible and used to taking initiatives. You demonstrate your professionalism by emanating a positive attitude and sharing expert advice in a pleasant communicative management style. You are able to deal with a lot of freedom and personal responsibility. You report directly to the Section Head E&I.
